Tips and troubleshooting steps for the DISCO Bulk Uploader
If you're using the Bulk Uploader and find that your uploads aren't completing, please review the tips and try the troubleshooting steps below.
If you have tried these steps without success, please contact our Support Team and we will happily assist you.
Note: If your upload is stalled, please do not click the X to cancel the upload. Our Support staff may be able to give the upload a nudge on our end to help it complete, but we're not able to do so if the upload has been cancelled.

Resolving connectivity issues
If you've noticed that your upload appears to not be progressing at all during the upload phase, the most likely culprit is a connectivity issue.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting connectivity issues on a Mac
Start by searching for and opening the Activity Monitor.
Next, click on the Network tab.
Locate the "Data sent/sec" field in the bottom right corner. This should be consistently above 1mb/s when the uploader is working, depending on your available bandwidth.
If the value fluctuates widely or is stuck in the KB range, then the uploader is probably stalled.
If a stalled upload is indicated, switch back to the Bulk Uploader and then try each the following, checking if the upload has resumed after each attempt:
- Cick Pause , wait 15 seconds, restart the upload, then check the Activity Monitor
- Cick Pause , log out, log back in and restart the upload
- Cick Pause , log out, restart computer, log in and restart the upload.
- Cick Pause , reset router for 30 seconds, then once internet is reconnected restart the upload.
Note that while the Bulk uploader is paused, you can safely log in and out without your files being lost.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting connectivity issues on a Windows machine
Open up the task manager by hitting Control+Shift+Esc on your keyboard.
Locate the DISCO Uploader app, then check the value under the column “Network”. If this value is consistently 0 Mbps, your upload may be stuck.
If a stalled upload is indicated, switch back to the Bulk Uploader and then try each the following, checking if the upload has resumed after each attempt:
- Click Pause, wait 15 seconds, restart the upload, then check the Activity Monitor
- Click Pause, log out, log back in and restart the upload
- Click Pause, log out, restart computer, log in and restart the upload.
- Click Pause, reset router for 30 seconds, then once internet is reconnected restart the upload.
While the Bulk uploader is paused, you can safely log in and out without your files being lost.
Preventing your computer from going to sleep
When using Bulk Uploader, we suggest changing your computer’s power settings to prevent it from going to sleep, especially if you find your uploads are being interrupted or stalling.
Mac instructions
1. Open your System Preferences, then double-click Energy Saver .
2. In the Power Adapter window, tick the box next to “Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off,” and drag the “Turn display off after” slider to Never. Set it this way just for the duration of the upload to avoid the upload pausing.
Windows instructions
1. Go to Power & Sleep in the Control Panel. In Windows 10, you can pull it up quickly on the Start button and typing “Power”.
2. Adjust the setting “When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after…” to Never. Do the same for the “On battery power” setting only if you’ll be uploading while not plugged in.
3. Click Save Changes
Playlists are not being automatically created
There are a few things to note about automatic Playlist creation with the DISCO Bulk Uploader:
- Playlists are automatically created for folders containing less than 1,000 tracks.
- If a folder contains more than 1,000 tracks, a Playlist will not be created.
- Playlists are created after all of the files have been uploaded.
